Overall, I love the idea of having a philosophy. Something you care about so much, that it makes you who you are and why you care about the things you do. When thinking about a personal philosophy, my mind kept turning back to music and how it brings growth. The definition for growth is "the process of developing or maturing physically, mentally, or spiritually." I truly believe that music can bring so much growth into a person's life. Recently, I have pondered the power of growing as a student. Through so many changes, students need to grow to see the positive in their life. In music, students learn how to count beats. This strengthens their brain in thinking skills, as well as teaches them basic math.
